Former deputy prime minister said Poland benefited from pandemic, and then apologized

"Poland is gaining in the pandemic," said Jadwiga Emilewicz, former deputy prime minister, in an online post, emphasizing the role of, inter alia, anti-crisis shields. After the criticism, however, she apologized and talked about "an unfortunate use of words".
Jadwiga Emilewicz admitted that the word 'gaining' was not well used in the context of the pandemic and human suffering. However, she added that the wave of substantive criticism and hate covered the original meaning of her statements.
Emilewicz previously quoted The Economist weekly survey, which showed that Poland has dealt with the effects of the pandemic exceptionally well in terms of economy.
It is worth noting, however, that the former deputy prime minister apologized to everyone, not only to "those who felt offended."
