Hyundai Rotem wants to make Poland European center of K2 tank production

South Korean defense company Hyundai Rotem plans to make Poland its European hub for K2 tank production, aiming to accelerate exports across the continent. The move follows a $6.5 billion contract with Poland covering deliveries, local manufacturing, and technology transfer. While three initial Polish-configured K2 tanks will be built in Korea, assembly of 61 units will take place at Bumar-Łabędy, part of PGZ, with key technologies like fire control systems and engines remaining Korean-made.
Hyundai Rotem also foresees cooperation on future systems, including unmanned vehicles and armored platforms. The localized K2PL tanks will feature advanced protection systems, anti-drone technology, and adaptations for Polish troops, serving as a base for further exports to Europe and the Middle East.
