Innovate Poland begins, planning billions for investment in innovation
On November 14, Poland officially launched the Innovate Poland program, dubbed “Domański’s Plan,” led by Finance and Economy Minister Andrzej Domański. The initiative aims to encourage large corporations to invest in riskier venture capital (VC) and private equity (PE) funds to boost innovation. Backed initially by 4 billion PLN (with expectations of matching private capital), the program could channel billions into up to 250 tech-focused firms. It includes major players like PFR Ventures, BGK, and PZU, with a structure that reduces risk through a fund-of-funds model.
Inspired by France’s “Tibi Plan,” Innovate Poland seeks to mobilize private capital, establish a robust VC/PE ecosystem, and drive R&D growth across the Polish economy.
