JP Morgan and Alphabet warn corrections in valuation of AI will be felt everywhere
JPMorgan deputy CEO Daniel Pinto warned that AI-sector valuations may be overheated and due for a correction that could ripple across the broader market, including the S&P 500. He argued that current prices assume productivity gains that may arrive more slowly than investors expect. Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai echoed these concerns, telling the BBC that although Alphabet would survive a downturn, “no company will be immune” if the AI boom breaks.
He described parts of the current market as irrational, drawing parallels to the dot-com era. Reflecting this sentiment, the Roundhill Generative AI & Technology ETF has fallen in seven of the last eight trading sessions.
