More than half of Poles believe Europe should abandon climate goals

According to a climate survey by E.ON Foundation and Civey, 54% of Poles believe the EU should abandon its climate goals—the highest share among nine countries surveyed. In contrast, 77% still value Europe being seen as a leader in energy transition, and 55% believe the transition will boost long-term prosperity (above the European average of 45%).
However, 72% of Poles fear the financial costs of the transition. Poles favor nuclear energy (37%) over wind (20%) and solar (19%), differing from the European average where solar leads. Support for the energy transition is declining across Europe. The report calls for better education to show both the costs and benefits of climate action versus inaction.
