NBP: core inflation fell sharply in November, lowest in six years
Core inflation in Poland, excluding food and energy prices, fell from 3.0% in October to 2.7% in November, according to data from the National Bank of Poland (NBP). This was the lowest reading since November 2019 and in line with analysts’ expectations. November marked the eighth consecutive month in which core inflation remained within the NBP’s target range of 2.5% ±1 percentage point. Other core measures also declined: inflation excluding administered prices fell to 2.0%, excluding the most volatile prices to 3.1%, and the 15% trimmed mean to 2.4%. Headline CPI inflation stood at 2.5% y/y.
The NBP emphasized that core inflation excluding food and energy is its preferred indicator, as it best reflects price trends influenced by monetary policy.
