The average selling price of new cars in Poland has dropped by 5% year-on-year, despite a rise in list prices, according to the Carsmile platform. Consumers are now purchasing vehicles at an average of 145,000 PLN after discounts. Michał Knitter, founder of Carsmile, highlighted that while list prices have increased slightly, dealers are offering significant discounts to attract buyers. In May, the average discount reached 17.2% off the list price, with dealers becoming more generous compared to April. Carsmile predicts that discounts are unlikely to exceed 17.2% due to profitability concerns.

This trend reflects intense competition among dealers aiming to clear 2023 inventory as newer 2024 models dominate the market.
