PKO BP profits beat market forecasts
Poland’s largest bank, PKO Bank Polski, reported a net profit of PLN 2.93 billion for the third quarter of 2026, exceeding analysts’ expectations of PLN 2.82 billion. Earnings rose 3.4% from a year earlier and 6% from the previous quarter. Net interest income reached PLN 6.47 billion, up 6.8% year on year, while fee and commission income increased 4.5% to PLN 1.41 billion.
For the first nine months, the group earned PLN 8.22 billion, a 3.2% annual increase. Lower provisions, including reduced costs associated with foreign currency mortgage litigation, supported profitability. However, operating expenses rose and the bank faced higher income taxes following changes to the sector’s tax rate. The results suggest that Poland’s largest lender continues generating substantial income despite changing interest rate conditions. Investors across Poland today will focus on loan demand and margins as monetary policy evolves.
