Polish Statistician Flags Election Irregularities in Runoff Vote Analysis

Dr. Krzysztof Kontek, a statistics expert at Warsaw School of Economics, conducted an extensive analysis of Poland’s second-round election results and identified several statistical anomalies suggesting irregularities. His study highlighted potential issues in 1,482 local electoral commissions, where he detected four concerning patterns: unusually high support for a particular candidate, sudden vote surges between rounds, reversals of expected local trends, and steep declines in votes for the opposing candidate.
By aggregating these anomalies, Kontek estimates a discrepancy ranging from approximately 315,000 to 458,000 ballots in favor of Karol Nawrocki. The findings have reignited debates about the accuracy and legitimacy of the electoral process, with calls for thorough investigations and transparency. Supporters argue that every vote must count, while critics insist the results reflect genuine shifts in voter sentiment.
This analysis adds a new layer to ongoing discussions in Poland regarding election integrity and democratic trust.
