Polish wages top €2,000

The average gross monthly salary in Poland’s corporate sector rose to PLN 9,045.11 in April 2025—up 9.3% year-on-year—exceeding forecasts and remaining above €2,000 (EUR 2,119.28). This reversed a four-month slowdown and followed March’s lowest growth in four years. Despite a slight 0.12% monthly dip, real wage growth reached 4.79% thanks to easing inflation (4.3%).
Salaries in large companies have consistently surpassed €2,000 since February, a threshold first crossed in December 2024. However, the average wage measure excludes sectors like public administration, healthcare, and small businesses—representing under 40% of workers. In comparison, Poland’s median gross wage in November 2024 was PLN 6,842, about 20% lower than the average.
Average employment in April rose by 2,000 to 6.446 million but remains down 0.8% y/y, in line with analyst expectations. Overall, job numbers in large enterprises have declined steadily since December 2022.
