President signs law delaying the new electricity tariffs

President Andrzej Duda signed a law delaying the introduction of new electricity tariffs for households by three months, moving the effective date to October 1, 2025. The change aims to allow for lower electricity prices after the current price cap (PLN 500/MWh) expires.
Under the amendment, energy providers must now submit new tariff applications by July 31 instead of April 30. The government expects that falling wholesale energy prices will enable utility companies to offer lower rates for households starting in the fourth quarter. The final tariff levels will also influence whether protective measures for consumers will be extended through the end of 2025.
