Prez of Atal: housing market is easy to derail with bad decisions
Atal is nearing completion of its 35-storey residential tower on Olimpijska Street in Katowice, scheduled for delivery at the end of February. Atal CEO Zbigniew Juroszek says the housing market is currently healthy, competitive, and increasingly professional, giving buyers more choice and room to negotiate prices. He criticizes the lack of mortgage subsidies, calling it a major social and political mistake, arguing that well-designed support — especially for families with children — could stabilize demand. Juroszek also raises concerns about new regulations, including mandatory shelters in new buildings and Katowice’s recently introduced vacant-property tax, which he says lacks clear definitions.
Despite regulatory challenges, Atal plans two major residential projects for 2027–2028 and does not intend to slow its development pace.
