Report: 51% of women in Poland earn up to PLN 4,000, men at 36%

According to the Personnel Service "Polish Labor Market Barometer" report, 51% of women in Poland earn less than PLN 4,000 net, compared to 36% of men. Meanwhile, 10% of men earn over PLN 7,500 net, while only 3% of women reach this salary level.
Women are less likely to negotiate raises, with only 25% planning to ask for a salary increase, compared to 33% of men. They also apply for jobs only when they meet 100% of requirements, while men apply at 60%.
In 2024, the median gross salary was PLN 6,480.52, with women earning PLN 6,242, and men PLN 6,755, reflecting an 8% gender pay gap. Women held 23.4% of board seats in major Polish companies, a decline from 2023. New EU gender balance regulations will require 33% female representation in corporate leadership by 2026.
