Russia’s share of LPG imports to Poland fell to 42.7% in 2024

In 2024, imported LPG accounted for 81.2% of Poland’s total consumption, nearly unchanged from 2023, according to the Polish Liquid Gas Organization (POGP). Russia remained the largest supplier, though its share dropped to 42.7% from 45.8% a year earlier. Imports also came from Sweden (23.4%), the U.S. (5.5%), Norway (5.4%), and the UK (4.7%).
LPG import diversification reached record levels by late 2024, especially after the EU embargo on Russian LPG in December, which reduced Russia’s share below 30% and made Sweden the leading source. The average import price was €545/ton, or €601/ton excluding Russian supplies, leading to a retail price increase of about PLN 0.50 per liter.
