Twelve mln digital payments made in public sector in ‘25
In Poland, the public sector processed over 12 million digital payments in 2025, up nearly 23% y/y, under the Polska Bezgotówkowa Foundation program. By the end of the year, more than 3,600 public offices and institutions had joined the initiative, installing over 20,100 cashless payment devices.
About 550,000 digital payments worth nearly PLN 54.5 million were made through ePayments integrated with the mObywatel, which has been adopted by nearly 150 local governments. Currently, 26% of Polish residents can pay administrative fees through the app. Most transactions in 2025 related to property tax (about 75%), followed by municipal waste management fees (over 23%), reflecting growing digitalization of public administration payments.
