The value of the foreign direct investment in Poland in 2019 was PLN 50.8 billion, which is PLN 500 million more than the previous year, informed the National Bank of Poland (NBP) on June 2.
NPB added that the total value was mainly influenced by the reinvestment of profits of direct investment entities, which amounted to PLN 53.4 billion, i.e. PLN 15.7 billion (41 percent) more than a year ago. “The largest direct investments came from Germany, the Netherlands and Spain.”
Meanwhile, Polish direct investments abroad in 2019 amounted to PLN 8.2 billion against a negative balance of PLN -1.5 billion in the previous year. The largest investments were recorded in Sweden (repayment of debt to daughter companies), Cyprus and Germany. The capital was withdrawn from entities located in Luxembourg, South Korea and the United States.
