Wellbeing influences professional decisions: pracuj.pl survey

Every second Pole with a job declares that they would quit if it negatively affected their physical or mental health, according to the latest research by Pracuj.pl. In theory, employees in Poland seem to have a growing awareness of the importance of good relationships and proper balance in their working lives. Despite this, in practice, they still face many challenges, often decisive when looking for a new job.
Poles remain professionally mobile, and over one in three declare they are actively looking for a new job. The most prominent and frequent motivations for taking such a step are financial, especially in times of high inflation. However, among the factors determining professional change are essential "soft aspects" related to relationships, sense of appreciation, and psychological condition.
At the turn of 2021 and 2022, there was a lot of talk around the world about "great resignation", i.e., mass departures from work, recorded mainly in the United States. Some critical reasons for this phenomenon are job dissatisfaction and the desire to care for one's mental health. As a result, 4 in 10 Americans have thought about leaving their current employer.
Pracuj.pl's research indicates that Poles - at least on the declaration level - show a relatively high readiness to leave a job that harms them. The most frequently indicated motivation is deteriorating physical health. It would be the reason for leaving the employer by half of the respondents. Only slightly less frequently would respondents be prompted to leave their current place of employment by deteriorating mental health, as indicated by 45 percent of respondents.
"Practice proves that without the help of relevant experts, we still often realize too late that we have crossed the line at work, beyond which working life negatively affects our mental or physical health. The timely detection and prevention of these processes is an important feature of both the best employees and employers," Agnieszka Bieniak, HR Director at Grupa Pracuj, said.
