Poland comes at the bottom of the number of tests for Covid-19 in the EU

To correctly assess the epidemiological situation of a given country in the time of a pandemic, it is necessary to correctly analyze the phenomenon. This is one of the reasons for collecting data on Covid-19 infections in the population. However, the official numbers of coronavirus infections detected are based on the number of coronavirus tests performed in a given country.
In the list taking into account the performance of tests for Covid-19 per population, Poland is in the last place among all European Union countries.
Cyprus ranks first in the EU, where more than 22,000 tests per 1,000 inhabitants have been carried out. Austria is second in this respect. There, 13,000 tests were performed per 1,000 inhabitants. So, theoretically, each inhabitant was tested 13 times, assuming there would be no visitors. In Poland, there are only 720 tests (27.2 million) per 1,000 inhabitants.
So far, the largest number of tests for Covid-19 in Europe has been carried out in a country outside the EU, i.e. the United Kingdom – almost 369 million.
