Poland will build a second AI facility for €70 mln

Poland will build its second Artificial Intelligence Factory under the EU’s EuroHPC JU initiative, with a budget of €70 million, jointly funded by the European Commission and the Polish government. The facility, called Gaia AI Factory, will be located at AGH University in Kraków and led by Cyfronet AGH. It will feature over 1,000 GPUs, greatly boosting Poland’s computing power. The project focuses on healthcare, space technologies, and large language model (LLM) development. It will support AI training, data access, and talent development across sectors.
Gaia AI will aid in medical diagnostics, climate monitoring, and multilingual public services. Poland now joins Germany and Spain among EU countries hosting two AI Factories, strengthening Europe’s digital sovereignty.
