Rzeczpospolita daily informed that the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, is to call during next week's (October 21-22) summit to suspend the approval of the Polish National Reconstruction Plan (KPO).

The politician was obliged to do so by the national parliament, which adopted a resolution on this matter. Rutte has already confirmed that he will not oppose this decision.

"It is very important and a priority to call on the Commission not to approve the Polish recovery plan. I will call on the Commission next week not to approve the reconstruction plan, in any case waiting for the decision of which court has priority," he said.

According to Rzeczpospolita, many member states are not interested in escalating the dispute with Poland.

“We hope that the Commission will communicate with Poland. Of course, if you fail, you will have to make hard decisions,” one diplomat from an EU Member State said.

However, the Netherlands is not going to wait. For now, the European Commission (EC) intends to wait for the publication of the judgment of the Constitutional Tribunal in the Journal of Laws. Only then will it be possible to formally assess the new law.
