Prime Minister: we must have adequate compensation for changing energy system

“Poland may make further efforts to change its energy system and reduce emissions, but we must have adequate compensation for it,” Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on Monday before the COP25 climate summit in Madrid.
The Prime Minister emphasized that attention should be paid not only to how much individual EU countries emit carbon dioxide, but also to what level of CO2 is consumed per capita.
“For example, countries such as the Netherlands or Belgium, which on the one hand are in the avant-garde of climate change, on the other hand, have per capita consumption much higher than Poland,” Morawiecki pointed out.
According to the head of the Polish government, Europe is trying to put pressure on the rest of the world when it comes to CO2 emissions.
