SMEs in Poland prioritize digitalization

Digitalization is seen as essential for future profitability by 87% of Polish small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), according to a study by IONOS Group. This is the second-highest result in Europe, following Spain. Only 4% of Polish SMEs plan no new digital implementations for 2025, the lowest in the survey.
Marketing tools and online services are the primary investment areas, with 33% planning to invest in social media, 29% in online office tools, and 27% in company email domains. SMEs focus on improving online collaboration (40%) and digitalizing business models (38%). However, there is a gap in areas like cybersecurity and online visibility.
Cost (66%) and lack of expertise (63%) are the top barriers, alongside inflation (59%) and energy costs (62%). The study surveyed 4,511 decision-makers across seven European markets.
