On Wednesday, June 9th President Andrzej Duda signed an amendment to the Act on National Debt Register
The act introducing a partial computerization of consumer bankruptcy proceedings was passed by the Parliament in late April. Then, the Senate, dominated by the opposition, proposed nearly 50 amendments, the most important of which concerned postponing the entry into force of the amendment from early July to early December.
It is, among others, about streamlining the consumer bankruptcy procedure, e.g. by the rule of submitting letters and documents via an ICT system handling court proceedings, or keeping files of proceedings by a restructuring advisor exclusively in an ICT system.
The amendment signed by the President is to ensure coherence so that it will be possible to handle bankruptcy proceedings with respect to natural persons, in particular those who do not conduct business activity, using the IT system supporting the court proceedings, where case files are created and processed.
