ME: Poland to receive €21.5 mln to strengthen protection of critical energy infrastructure
Poland will receive over PLN 90 million (€21.5 million) in EU funding to strengthen the protection of critical electricity infrastructure, the Ministry of Energy announced. The funds come from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) and are part of a wider €113 million package allocated by the European Commission to secure infrastructure linked to the synchronization of the Baltic states’ power systems with continental Europe. According to the ministry, the investment will enhance resilience against physical and cyber threats and support stable energy supplies.
The program, implemented by Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne (PSE), includes advanced threat-detection systems and reinforced protection of key substations. The initiative also strengthens energy security across Central and Eastern Europe following the Baltics’ 2025 disconnection from the Russian IPS/UPS system.
