Gig economy in Poland is accelerating, casual work becoming increasingly popular

Interest in temporary work is rapidly growing in Poland, with over 70% of companies planning to use it in the coming months. The main drivers are rising labor costs—such as an 8.5% increase in the minimum wage—and the need for greater flexibility. According to a Tikrow report, demand for temporary workers has jumped by 20 percentage points in 18 months. Sectors like retail (67%), logistics (69%), and manufacturing (77%) show the highest interest.
For workers, the main motivations are extra income, high living costs, and financial independence. While once seen as supplemental, temporary work is becoming a central workforce strategy, signaling a shift toward a more flexible labor market in Poland.
