Plumbing industry in crisis: engineers resign, investments threatened

Designing sanitary installations is one of the most undervalued specializations in the construction industry. Despite its essential role, the sector struggles with low profit margins, a shortage of professionals, and lack of systemic support. Experts warn that if the situation doesn’t change, the entire construction sector will suffer.
Many design firms take on projects below cost or close down, while young engineers leave the profession due to poor pay—sometimes earning less than supermarket cashiers. This results in a talent gap and declining project quality. To address the crisis, experts propose setting minimum service fees, standardizing project quality, and investing in education through scholarships and mentoring. Urgent action is needed to prevent further decline.
