Polish airports handled 45.7 million passengers in the first three quarters of 2024, a 13.6% increase compared to 2023 and 21.4% more than 2019, according to the Civil Aviation Authority (ULC). In Q3 alone, 19.1 million passengers were served, up 12.5% from 2023. Passenger flight operations rose by 13.4% y/y, reaching 325,900.
Warsaw Chopin Airport led with 16.2 million passengers (+2.1 million y/y), followed by Kraków Airport (8.3 million, +1.2 million) and Gdańsk Airport (5.1 million, +609,800). International passenger traffic grew by 15.3%, outpacing ACI Europe airports. Ryanair, Wizz Air, and LOT led in international passengers.
Domestic travel decreased by 7.7%, and air cargo volume declined by 6.2% y/y to 141,700 tons, reflecting mixed trends in the aviation sector.
