ZPL: Poland's share in European leasing market growing

The results of the Polish leasing industry achieved in 2018 allowed it to rise from the 7th to the 5th position in the European ranking, the Polish Leasing Association (ZPL) announced. In 2018, the Polish leasing industry achieved an increase of PLN 82.6 billion, or €19.4 billion, which translated into an increase in market share from 4.15 percent up to 5 percent.
“Poland is currently the fifth largest leasing market in Europe. Before us are: Great Britain, Germany, France and Italy. Over the past year, the Polish leasing industry has surpassed the Russian and Swedish markets,” Mieczysław Woźniak, vice chairman of the ZPL executive committee, said.
The Leaseurope Federation, representing the European leasing sector, said that last year the total value of new leasing contracts concluded in Europe amounted to €386.4 billion. The European leasing market recorded an increase of 7.7 percent y/y in 2018.
