65% of Polish Companies Plan Price Hikes in 2024

In a survey conducted by Grant Thornton, 65% of medium and large companies in Poland intend to raise prices in 2024, marking a decrease from previous years. The net indicator stands at 63%, reflecting inflationary pressure but notably lower than the previous year's 74%. Globally, many countries show similar trends, with a decline in forecasted price increases compared to the previous year. Factors such as the ongoing war in Ukraine and the energy crisis contribute to rising production costs. Despite high inflation and growing labor costs, consumer demand remains robust, enabling companies to pass on increased operating expenses to customers. Grant Thornton's chief economist forecasts a gradual decline in inflation to around 5.4% in 2024, rebounding after a temporary dip in the first quarter.
