Poland is experiencing nearly 1,800 cyberattacks per week, a 60% quarterly increase, reports cybersecurity firm Check Point Software Technologies. Since early 2024, attacks have surged by 200%. Polish organizations face 1,754 attacks weekly, compared to 1,000 in Hungary or Germany. Key targets include state administration, military institutions, and public utilities.
In 2023, there were 5,000 attacks on military networks. Recently, Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski revealed Poland as the most attacked EU country, primarily by Russia and Belarus. Polish services handle 600-700 daily interventions, a 400% rise since 2022. Cyberespionage campaigns by Russian-linked groups have targeted Polish infrastructure, though Poland’s cybersecurity defenses are highly rated globally. Most attacks (70%) are email-based, with .exe files being the most common malware.
