Economists advise Poland to switch to the euro by 2030 at the latest
Economists say that introducing the euro instead of złoty would bring economic and political benefits and Poland should do it by 2030 at the latest, Rzeczpospolita reports. Out of the 27 EU countries, 20 already have a common currency. Croatia was the latest one to introduce the euro on January 1, 2023.
“The benefits of adopting the euro are particularly large in the case of poorer countries. We should not wait until we catch up with Germany in terms of GDP per capita,” Cezary Wójcik, a professor at the Warsaw School of Economics, says.
