Polish industry alarmed because of government’s inability to act
Polish industry is urging the government to act on existential challenges linked to high energy prices, CO₂ emission costs, and weakening competitiveness, both globally and within the EU. At the first Congress of Polish Industry in Warsaw, representatives of energy-intensive sectors warned that Poland is failing to implement measures needed to protect industry. Deputy Energy Minister Konrad Wojnarowski said the government is working on mechanisms such as contracts for difference, CISAF implementation, lower system costs, and ETS reform. Industry policy and energy policy must be treated together, he said, as large industrial plants are key to grid stability.
Poland’s industry must also undergo low-emission transformation by 2040 and become zero-emission by 2050.
