Enter Air, Poland's largest private charter airline, opened its first domestic aircraft maintenance base at Katowice Airport, leasing a hangar for 10 years. The facility, accommodating two Boeing 737-sized planes, enables cost-efficient heavy maintenance for its 30-aircraft fleet, eliminating reliance on European service centers. Employing around 100 aviation mechanics, the base underscores Katowice's strategic importance alongside Warsaw.
The Katowice base complements Enter Air's smaller Hungarian hangar in Debrecen, focused on quicker repairs. The company also operates five line-maintenance stations across Poland.
Katowice Airport plans further expansion, including a fourth MRO hangar for Wizz Air. As part of a PLN 1.5 billion investment plan through 2032, the airport aims to enhance passenger, technical, and cargo services, having surpassed 6 million passengers in 2024.
