Mirbud and Torpol secure major railway bid
Mirbud and Torpol have joined forces for the first time and are poised to win a PLN 4.6 billion contract from PKP PLK. Their consortium submitted the most advantageous offer to design and build three sections of the E75 Rail Baltica line between Białystok and Ełk. The work, valued at PLN 4.56 billion, is expected to take 38 months once the deal is signed.
Shares of both companies rose 3–5% following the news. “It’s another step in the right direction,” said Noble Securities analyst Dariusz Nawrot, adding that final signing could occur early next year pending any appeals. Each firm holds a 50% stake, with Torpol focusing on rail work and Mirbud on embankments and structures. Though revenues could peak in 2027–2028, profitability may be modest—Nawrot estimates margins around 5%, lower than in past projects.
