PIU: value of bancassurance premium drops in Q1 2019
The value of gross written premiums obtained by insurers in the bancassurance channel amounted to PLN 1.7 billion in the first quarter of 2019, compared to PLN 2.1 billion a year earlier. The value accounted for 10.4 percent of the total value of premiums, compared with 13.1 percent a year earlier, according to the Polish Chamber of Insurance (PIU).
The value of premiums obtained in the bancassurance channel in Section 1 amounted to PLN 1.2 billion, while in Section II it amounted to PLN 497 million, according to data updated on July 16, 2019, PIU announced.
