Export dynamics slowed down a bit

The war behind our eastern border has slowed down the rate of growth of Polish exports but has not stopped it. Analysts from the Ministry of Development and Technology predict its growth this year despite the unbalanced supply chains and growing raw materials and work costs. This is to be helped by pro-export activities to find new markets for Polish goods. Preparations are also underway to resume exports to Ukraine.
"Anything that disrupts the security of international business has a colossal impact on the activities of entrepreneurs, especially those who are export-oriented, and Polish entrepreneurs to a large extent are strongly linked to foreign markets," Tomasz Salomon, Deputy Director of the Department of Trade and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Development and Technology, said.
In his opinion, however, Polish companies have been famous for years for their flexibility in adapting to crises and challenging conditions.
According to the Central Statistical Office, during the four months of 2022, Polish companies exported goods worth PLN 487 billion, 17.3 percent more than a year earlier. This corresponds to $119.5 billion (an increase of 8.5 percent) and €106.2 billion (an increase of 16.1 percent). The differences in dynamics result from the strengthening of the dollar and the weakening of the zloty.
