Legia Warszawa stays still poor relation of richest European clubs

The difference in incomes and budgets between the best football clubs and those from the lower shelf, such as the Polish Ekstraklasa, is so big that it will be difficult to compensate for. This is shown by the comparison of Legia Warsaw's income with the top 20 clubs in the world prepared by the portal 300gospodarka.
Using the data of the consulting company Deloitte and Przegląd Sportowy daily, the budgets of Ekstraklasa clubs were compared with the place in the lead. In the case of Legia Warsaw, money translates into success – the newest Polish football champion is also the richest club with the largest budget of PLN 109 million. The Polish runner-up – Raków Częstochowa – has a budget five times smaller than that of Legia (PLN 22 million). Relatively much money is owned by Lech Poznań – PLN 75 million.
300gospodarka has compiled not the budgets but the revenues of the top 20 richest clubs in the world and the Polish champion to see how its wallet compares to the wallets of potential rivals in the next edition of the Champions League. The revenues of the club in Warsaw in 2020 amounted to €33 million, while the richest club in the world – FC Barcelona – gained €715 million at that time. The revenues of Real Madrid, the second podium player, are €691 million, and the third Bayern Munich – €634 million. Even the 20th in the ranking Eintracht Frankfurt added €174 million in the revenues item of the balance sheet.
The above comparison is not favorable for the Polish champion. It remains to be hoped that Legia will be able to make up for in terms of sports and training, first in qualifying with smaller clubs, and later fighting with the richest ones. However, the condition of the wallet shows that it will not be easy.
