Poland is one of the worst prepared countries for the introduction of 5G in Europe, according to the Kearney 5G Readiness Index 2022. It is doing worse than most countries in Western Europe, as well as Romania and Czechia. The average speed of mobile internet in Poland is lower than in other countries in the region due to the lack of dedicated frequencies for 5G, the report noted.
"At the moment, in the context of 5G, there are no established patterns of increasing customer interest. Without innovative products or services, people will not see the advantages of this technology. For this reason, operators are wondering whether increasing investments in 5G is profitable," Director in Kearney's Warsaw Office Dawid Krzysiak said.
Out of 28 surveyed countries, in 11, at least one operator is running a standalone 5G network. In Asia, there are as many as seven countries, while in Europe only Finland and Germany made it to the list.
